Mulcahy LLP, a nationally recognized boutique franchise and distribution litigation firm, is pleased to announce its recent addition of a new Corporate and Compliance practice area. With the recent addition of Martin D. Fern as Senior Corporate Counsel and Sandra G. Gibbs as Counsel, Mulcahy LLP is now poised to offer a full slate of legal services to its franchise, distribution, and business clients. The firms’ team of experienced trial lawyers continue to provide the first-rate litigation and dispute resolution services that have built the firm’s reputation over the past 19 years.
Franchising and distribution relationships are governed by a complex web of statutes and regulations at the state and federal levels, as well as internationally. The attorneys at Mulcahy LLP, having dedicated their careers to franchising, are uniquely suited to handling the myriad issues presented in this context, including regulatory compliance, negotiation and support for commercial transactions, trademark registration and enforcement, trade secret, unfair competition, and antitrust law. Above all, their focus is on achieving the brand’s business goals in a practical and cost-effective manner.
For over 40 years, Marty’s practice has focused almost exclusively on representing businesses in franchise, corporate, and transactional matters and has authored numerous authoritative law books. He is a recognized authority on contracts, franchising, and distribution law. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, start-up and mature franchise systems, and FTC and state franchise compliance matters. Marty consults with law firms and provides expert witness testimony, serves as an arbitrator and mediator in contract and franchise law disputes, and has published fourteen law books, including Warren’s Forms of Agreements, an eight-volume treatise and practice guide and one of the leading American law publications, and five law books on franchise law, including a three-volume treatise entitled, Franchising Law.
Sandra brings 25 years of legal experience to Mulcahy, including regulatory compliance, trademark, and general business matters. Having served as chief in-house counsel for an established franchise company for nearly a decade, Sandra has a keen understanding of business imperatives and an appreciation for the demands on in-house counsel’s time and resources. As a result, she is dedicated to providing timely, cost-effective, and practical solutions to her clients, on issues that can range from day-to-day concerns to extraordinary challenges.
With the addition of this new practice, Mulcahy LLP offers a one-stop shop legal solution for franchisors and distributors.
